username and pwd are now in the customer list. they can be viewed not changed as a lot relies on their username with the orders in history and what not. but remember if you use the proceed without register option and they chose to not register then they have no username or password and they are the ones that chose not to register.
also the store has always offered a "Forgot Password" option that emailed the Customer the username and password, all they have to do is provide the email they used when they registered.
